My name is Lisa. I am 12 years old. I am in class 6 at Raffle Secondary School. It is a big and beautiful school. The school has a very tall gate with the name "Raffle Secondary School". After the gate, there is a big yard with many trees. Students love reading books, playing or chatting under the trees during recess. There is also a big playground with many wings next to school yard. Many students can play on the wings during recess. There are 20 classrooms in my school. Each classroom has 30 desks, 6 lights, a black board, a teacher's table and a clock. All of us try to keep our classrooms clean. Each class has from 25 to 30 students. Students have right to choose their seats and I often sit on the first line because I can listen to the lesson more clearly.I learn about many interesting things at school, so I always want to go to school every day. I love my school.

There are many places where people can study in. Peter studies in a primary school. His school has both boys and girls. It's a co-educational school. Some schools have only boys or girls. These are known as single - sexed schools.
Peter's little sister attends a kindergarten for three hours a day. Some children go to a childcare centre for the whole day when their parents are at work.
Peter's mother is a teacher in a secondary school where she teaches students between thirteen and sixteen years old. In the evening, she learns to draw at home. The teaching materials and drawing lessons are posted to her weekly by the correspondence.
Peter's father is an electronics technician. He is attending the university twice a week to obtain a degree.

On most Sunday afternoon, The Smiths like to laze in their living room. It is a cosy and comfortable place. Mr Smith usually reads the newspapers. He can sit on his favourite armchair for hours without moving. Mrs Smith prefers to tend to her flowers in the garden. Sometimes, she admires them from the window.
John, the elder child, enjoys reading books. He likes to lie on the sofa with his pet dog, Bongo, next to him. Bongo eats a lot and loves to sleep near its master. It has been with the Smiths for ten years. Jane likes to watch television. She never misses her favourite programme - "Mr Bean". Sometimes, she helps her mother water the flowers in the garden. They both like flowers. The Smiths prefer to stay at home on Sundays. They do not like outdoor activities, neither do they enjoy shopping.

In Australia, most children bring lunch boxes to school because the school canteens are not always open. The canteens are managed by volunteers, which means they are only open on days when volunteers are available. Therefore, lunch boxes are necessary for school children.
Most children get sandwiches and fruit in their lunch boxes. Sometimes, they even get a schocolate bar. However, poor Benny gets only a Vegemite sandwich and nothing else. His mother is very busy with seven children. Preparing seven lunch boxes is not easy for her in early hours of every day. She just wants to make something that really simple and cheap. Benny feels miserable eating the same thing every day, but there is nothing much he can do about it.
During lunch hours, when the children gather around exchanging food items in their boxes, but poor Benny is always left out. His Vegemite sandwich is not worth much in these barter trades. Unless he has a piece of cake or a muffin, there is no way anyone would trade his Vegemite sandwich for a bar of chocolate.
Benny and his siblings have been begging his mother for a change of menu. His mother relented, and now she only makes peanut butter sandwiches instead of Vegemite ones.
Note: Vegemite

Today is the second day of my trek around Mount Annapurna. I am exhausted and my legs are shaking. I just hope I am able to complete the trek. My feet is really killing me and my toes are bleeding, but I still want to continue.

Nepal is a fascinating country, but I have a great deal to learn. Everything is so different, and I am trying to adapt to the new way of life here. I am learning a little bit of the language to make communication easier; unfortunately, I don't learn foreign languages quickly. Although I don't understand much yet, I believe that I will improve .

I am travelling with Liam, a student from Leeds University in England. He is a nice guy, but impatient. He always walks ahead of me and complains that I am too slow. I am doing my best to keep up with him, but he is younger and stronger than I am. Maybe, I am just feeling sorry for myself because I am getting old.

Right now, Liam is sitting with the owner of the inn. They are discussing the differences between life in England and life in Nepal. I don't know the real name of the owner, but everybody just calls him Tam. Tam speaks English very well and he is trying to teach Liam some words in Nepali. Every time Tam says a new word, Liam tries to repeat it. Unfortunately, Liam also seems to have difficulty learning foreign languages. I just hope we don't get lost and have to ask for directions.

Mr Chia is my Mathematics teacher and my favourite among all teachers in my school. He is tall and thin. He is young, only twenty- six years old and still unmarried.
The main reason I like him is that he is a dedicated teacher. He really loves his job and he considers all of us as his own children. He is so friendly and kind that sometimes we forget that he is our teacher. He has a fantastic sense of humour and jokes all the time. Because of his attitude towards the subject and toward us, many of us who used to hate Mathematics now love the subject.Even though he is my favourite teacher, all of us are his favourite.
He dresses very well, usually better than other teachers. He is neat, tidy and physically very fit. He often smiles and it is obvious that he is a happy man. About his family life, we found out that he is an only child and that he lives with his mother. His father passed away when he was a child. Once when we talked about fathers, I saw tears in his eyes. We felt sorry for him as it was clear that he missed his father very much. That was the only time that we saw him looking sad.
He takes special care to make sure that all of us like his subject and I believe that is why we are so good at it. It is because of him that Mathematics is the favourite subject for all of us.

You need a lot of different kinds of food to stay healthy. In other words, you need a balanced diet.
You need to eat enough food to be the right weight for your height. If you eat more than you need , the extra food will be stored as fat. If you don't eat enough food, your body can not grow or repair itself properly and you may become ill. It's not healthy to be too fat or too thin. If you are overweight, you need to eat less of some food and do more exercises. When you exercise, you body burns up some of the stored fat for energy.

Some people cannot eat certain types of food because the food makes them ill. This is called having a food allergy. Food such as milk, eggs, bananas, oranges and peanuts can make some people sick. Some people cannot eat food that contains wheat or wheat flour, such as cereals, bread, cakes or biscuits.
In short, It's very important to choose what food to eat. Eating healthy food can keep your body healthy.

I also draw pictures with plenty of kinds of pencil. The teacher will paste a few pictures on the wall of the classroom. The best pictures will be pasted on the wall of the school's galery room.
